Today was the last of a 3 part article in our newspaper here, The Oregonian, about a young woman with Down Syndrome. Her name is Karen Gaffney and she has just graduated from community college with an associate of science degree and a certificate qualifying her to work as a teacher's aide. She is a remarkable 23 year old who is part of a team about to swim the English Channel. She has a video out that is designed for new parents or those about to become parents of a DS child.
