After I eat a couple of bites of food, especially meat, I get a stopped up feeling in my throat, or choking sensation. Nothing is going anywhere!!

and if I don't excuse myself and go gag myself and throw up--I start salivating and pain starts and I WILL end up throwing up all the food and liquid. Along with a lot of phlegm.
Anyone have this condition?
I am so sick of it.
Most of the time if I stick to soup I am ok. also once I throw up I can usually continue to eat but not always, as you can imagine.

I feel that there is a buildup of phlegm in the food canal due to scar tissue or allergies and when the food gets down there it can't pass utnil I throw up the phlegm...after that I can drink and eat.
What do yall think>

Get checked out for GERD or LPRD!!!!! Also, follow each bite of food with a sip of water, that is what I do.

Good luck:angel:

As we age things just do not seem to work right sometimes. The problem you describe could be esophagus spasms.

Drink a hot drink just before eating and during the meal. This will help keep the esophagus relaxed. This works for me.

Sometimes esophagus hernias will be the cause.

You might want to try using an expectorant because it breaks up phelm and helps you cough it up.
