I am currently taking Arthrotec, Methotrexate, Prednisone, and Plaquenil for my RA. I just got my test results back and my sed rate is still high and my anemia is still bad. I am going to start Enbrel next week. What has most people experience with Enbrel. Does their sed rate go down and their anemia get better?

I am not sure about Enbrel, but I am on Humira, which is in the same category of Enbrel (Biologics) and my sed rate went down considerably and my anemia went back into the normal range. I can't tell you how much better I feel. I wish I had done this a year ago.

I hope you have as good of results as I have.

Annette,

I just started taking Enbrel on August 3rd. I'm due to take my third shot today (which I'm still not used to doing to myself!). I didn't get any test results yet but will let you know when I do. Meanwhile, I'm already feeling SOOOOOO much better! It's like night and day. Before I started taking the shots I was on Prednisone and Arava and STILL was in pain. Once I started the Enbrel I was practically pain free! (I'm still taking the other two medications for the moment). One negative so far is a reaction at the injection site. It started as a small black and blue and now, since last week, I have a huge warm pink area on my thigh. Hope this info was helpful.
