Was wondering if what I have could be adenomysis? At ovulation time, I have pain in my side, sometimes quite sharp and painful. When my cycle starts I most times have severe, sharp pains in my uterine area that are most severe the 1st to 2nd day of my period. I have heavy bleeding with alot of clots. My cycle lasts about 7-8 days and bleeding will slow a little on day 4, but then day 5 could be heavier. I have been diagnosed with 2 uterine polyps that I was planning on having a D & C on, but my dr. has now suggested an ablation too. Would a Hyst. be the best option? Also, what test diagnosises adeno? Thanks, Gymmom:)

I'm having a D&C w/hysteroscopy and a laporoscopy. I think they need to do a laporoscopy to look inside there and check everything out to get a proper diagnosis. My doc said that if the uterus is cushy like a sponge and pink and soft that means it's been curropted with Adenomyosis. She said the only treatment for it would be hysterectomy. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Thanks for your input. I will check with my doctor to see if she will include the lap. too.
