since my cal/mag pills stopped helping me feel better (placebo effect), and I never stopped with my previcid (2x a day), a nurse that my girlfriend knows said that previcid is crap, and will only make my hair fall out:eek: she said it probably isn't strong enough, but since I got a ton of free samples (no insurance) i should continue that, plus throw in 2 zantac in the evening. I'm really scared to try this, but it did come from a LPN.

Any thoughts?

from the side effects site i have bookmarked since i was on it also, and stopped:

quote:
I am 54 yr. old and have taken Prevacid for 6 months. About 2 months ago I began to notice hair loss for the first time. Is there a relationship?

Answer: Possibly, listed as one of the side effects, stop it and see.

Prevacid and Zantac are the same type of medication and should NOT be taken together!!!!! You can really hurt yourself if you take the wrong dosages of medications. Prevacid works great for a lot of people when it is taken properly and in the correct dose. Can you at least make an apt to see your MD and ask him or her what the correct dose should be? I would not listen to what the "LPN" said. Either it was taken out of context, or she sounds very unprofessional. By the way, a LPN only goes through 2 years of training and she is NOT qualified or licensed to prescribe medication.
