Hey all, I've been sufferering with anxiety for 6 years and for as long as I can remember, I've had pvcs too. I've had all the tests; 2d-echo, ekgs, and holter monitors all of which came back normal. One or two ekgs showed some pvcs. They're actually really worse 1-2 weeks before my period. I still can't seem to shake the thought that they're harmless and all caused from my anxiety. How can I put my mind at ease and try to lessen them when they get really bad??? Please any advice!!!

Oh my goodness, I'm sure nearly all of us have these! This is a SUPER common symptom with anxiety, we anxious folk feel them and pay more attention to them than other people when in fact nearly every human being has them. Stress, caffeine, and some medications make them worse. Sometimes they just seem to come and go with a mind of their own. The important thing is this: if you've been evaluated, you have to try your best to not worry about them. Mine are nearly always worse about a week before my period. Take care, I know it's difficult. I've had these things over half my life, on and off, and they still scare me sometimes.

Premature Ventricular Contraction. When your heart feels as if it is "skipping" a beat, it is usually a PVC or PAC (Premature Atrial Contraction).

I forgot to add...sometimes, not always, but sometimes when I feel the pvc I get short of breath and a throbbing sensation in my head. It only happens when I feel the pvc. a nurse told me that it is just my bp changing. anyone else feel like this when the have their pvcs?

I feel a sort of "rush" like something going to my head if I get more than one at a time.

Yeah I have them too. They come in spurts for me like every night for weeks and then back to just a few here and there.Took a few times of using holter and event recorder but holter monitor finaly recorded some.Thats when I found out they were PVC's cardiologist told my doctor "Just some PVC's not of any real concern." So honestly I havent worried about them much its just when I cant sleep at night that agravates me.I have had some real big flip flops felt like my heart stopped at the end but I guess it really didnt these used to scare me really bad now I try to just stay calm and take a deep breath.I was told most of the time they really are harmless.I know anxiety, caffiene, some cold meds, stress, and worrying about them can trigger them.

I also get these. I have two different types though. One is the simple skipped beat one and then every once i a while I get the one where it feels like my heart is beating real fast for a couple of seconds and I get a rush feeling that someone else mentioned for like 5 secs. The last one is the one that really freaks me out. It only last for maybe 8 secs at the most but it feels like my heart is beating out of my chest and I have to bear down to get it under control. Luckily I dont have these often and mostly brought on by over exertion. Stills its very scary and depressing to have these. Ive already been to the dr. about two years ago and they said everything is fine. Good luck to everyone out there with these. At least we have a place to share information and support about PVCs.
