Hello Everyone,
For the past year or so I have had the following symptoms on and off and recently they have become worse. I have strange muscle twitching all over, shock like sensations, balance issues ( can't walk a straight line w/out stumbling) and I have had problems with speach as well. My Neurologist said that my MRI revealed scarring deep in my brain but that it is inconclusive and now has me scheduled for an EMG. All my bloodwork was normal. His evasivness has me a little worried and whenever I research my symptoms, MS seems to come up. Does anyone have any ideas? When I asked my Dr. what caused the scarring he said that it could be hereditary or that we may never know. I get the feeling that he is holding out on me. Help!

Brycry,
Your symptoms could very well be neurological. There's many disorders that mimic MS.
If you feel your neuro is holding out,get a copy of the MRI report and see what it says.
An EMG is a good test that can tell if theres any demyelination causing any of your symptoms.
A diagnosis of MS can be a long journey, many test to exclude other disorders and many test are done to say if it MS.
Try not to stress,I know easier said than done.Stress will cause any disorder to get worse.
Theres lots of support and info here on these boards, many have experienced the not knowing.Imform yourself about MS.Theres many symptoms, this disease effects all differently

Thank you for your reply. I am having the EMG on Weds and will ask him to see the MRI report. I can understand why he doesn't want to diagnose me until he is sure, but I think not knowing is worse. I have read horror stories of it taking years for people to get an actual diagnosis, I don't know if I can handle the not knowing much longer. Thanks for the support.
