I have an appointment for my mirena insertion in the morning. They wanted me to be just starting or just finishing my period. I started today. Is this going to be ok?

yeah, i think you should be ok. i didnt have my period at all when i had my mirena inserted.

Thanks. My appointment is @9:15 no time to even call to ask. I don't even know if I should were a tampon or not.

Yes, it will be fine. They usually ask you not to have sex for 24 hours prior to fitting. You will be better wearing a pad when you go and take a spare one with you.

I am scheduled to have the Mirena however have some concerns regarding all of the negative feedback that I have read. The feedback was from 2003 so would like to know if this product has improved with time or what.
If anyone has had this IUD and would like to provide their feedback that would be great.

My dr recommended it to me and I was excited. I started reading the negative stuff and also read the packet and changed my mind. I had already did the cultures and everything. It took a year but I met a few people and my dr reassured me and I decided to do it. It is my 2nd day and I feel fine.No different at all. I will keep updated if it changes. Also remember a when someone is happy about a product they tell 3 people when they are mad its like 15 so think there must be some happy ones out there too.
