View Full Version : Antihistamine interactions with Tegretol and/or Keppra?

Hi folks,
Does anyone know of any strange interactions between antihistamines and Tegretol or Keppra?
I took a decongestant, which I think has an antihistamine in it, a few times last week, and I had some trouble with double vision, and then I took Benadryl last night, which has antihistamine in it, and had the same double vision problem this morning. I suddeny thought that there may be a drug interaction between that and the Tegretol and Keppra that I take, because I hadn't taken any antihistamines since before I started on the anti-seizure meds.
Has anyone ever heard of this??

Thanks!

I have given Tripp Bendayrl and he takes both Tegretol and Keppra drugest checked and said it was okay but would make him sleepy. He did just fine with it.

One thing you can do is look up interactions on the net- list your meds, and the meds you take for decongestant/antihistamine purposes, and see what comes up.....also ask your doc- some people do fine (I do), others don't. I take both Keppra and Tegretol, and every morning a 12 hour decongestant, and every night a decon/antihis combo, and have for years... but everyone's system is different.
