I have had lupus for 13 years. I live in Lexington, KY and was wondering if there was anyone in the area that had it as well? It would be nice to have someone to talk to about symptoms, treatments, and basically living with the disease.

Good, :) maybe we can help each other.
Hi,
I am always sorry to learn of anyone having been diagnoised with Lupus. I am not in your general locale, however, I am in East Tennessee. I am now 68 years of age, and have been living with Lupus and many of it's complications for about 35 years. I am totally disabled, in a wheel chair mostly, and unable to socialize at all. I have recently been enduring those horrible migraine headaches, which no medication will help. I also have neuropathy, memory loss, eye and severe gastric and kidney problems, to name only a few. To date, I have never been so lucky as to have had what is called "remission." I pray that your problems are much less severe than this. Of course, patients all have different problems. I still have great hope even after all these trying years. Faith and prayer keeps me afloat. My family is also wonderfully supportive with full understanding of the disease. I am wishing the very best for you, and hope you will have continuous remission with total success. Keep a positive attitude, be happy and grateful for all those things you don't have, that is my daily motto. Many Blessings , Ohma
