Hello everyone,
I've posted here a bit in the last few months but I read most everything that gets posted. This board has been a great resource and you Senior Veterans are so wonderful to devote so much of your time to help the rest of us that are learning.
I finally had a bit of a diagnosis last week and I am still sponging up information.
I was confirmed with SERONEGATIVE SPONDYLOARTHOPATHY and we're still determining the type. (I don't have prevailing IBS symptoms - so we're thinking probably ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS) I've tested positive for the HLA-B27 gene. So that basically puts me in a UCTD category for now.
I also had a marginally high eosinophil count (10%) and had a positive ANCA (Anti-Neutrophilic Cytoplasmic Antibodies) which looks like possible VASCULITIS. I had a slightly elevated WBC, 1:80 ANA Titre, negative RH factor, but otherwise normal CBC. Churg-Strauss Syndrome is being discussed and the CSS symptoms look quite similar to my 8-month long trail of symptoms.
I was placed on 20mg prednisone 10 days ago but was bumped up to 40mg this week upon these lab results. (Also taking 75mg Lyrica 3x/daily for nerve pain)
My rheumatologist is not yet sure if the two conditions are necessarily related. I don't have a diagnosis of lupus, but there sure seems to be a bit of similarities (even though my rheumie says there is not usually an overlap of Seronegative spondyloarthropathies with Vasculitis...but it could happen).
Can anyone share there experience and/or knowledge on either/both of these conditions?
Thank you!
Gina

I'm bumping this back up with an update.
I have tested positive for a C-ANCA (cytoplasmic) - which is definitely vasculitis and it is most likely Wegener's Granulamatosis.

Does anyone have any experience with Wegener's or Vasculitis?

Both the vasculitis and the spondylosis appear to be autoimmune.
Gina
