I love my sister because she is kind and gentle. I love her because she never gave my parents half the trouble that the rest of us kids did. She was the glue that held us together,in good times and bad. She has shown her siblings what real love is all about. As we all know gifts from God comes in all kinds of wrappings. I treasure the gift of my sister, she was 50 this year. She did not had the great start Downs kids have today but being raised in a large family had some advantages. She has 6 sisters and 7 brothers and I know I can speak for them as well. I hope you don't mind a sisters veiw of why she loves her special sister. Parish59

She's so happy with life, so ready to hug. You should see the way she greets everyone. And the way she reacts to seeing a person in a wheelchair. You can't hold her back from going over and giving them a hug and kiss. If someone is crying, she's got to cry with them. She's such a love! How can I not love her? She makes me proud!

I love my little one because she has made me a new person. My eyes are open to a new world that I never dreamed I would be a part of. In her 6 months she has been hospitalized more than 2 of it. From being born prematurely to major heart surgery I have learned patience, unselfishness, and most of all unconditional love. Her smiling face greets me every morning and says good night at the end of each day. If she has given me all this already I can't wait for whats yet to come.

I love my little brother because he teaches me so much about myself and the world, every single day.
I also think that he's the epitome of everything right with a human being.
(but I'm incredibly biased)
I love this thread.

I don't actually have a child with DS, but I do spend a lot of time with one. so I was hoping I'd be able to post.
I love my boy because he teaches me something new about the world everyday. most would say that I'm his role model, but in many ways he is mine. he teaches me to love unconditionally, and to forgive even when you don't really want to. I love him because he makes me laugh and I have a wonderful time rocking out to *NSYNC songs with him. I love him because he's one of my best friends eventhough he's only 12 years old. I love him because he sees the good in people when all you can see are their faults. I love him because he's patient in teaching me sign language http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif He's the love of my life and will always hold a special part of my heart.

I love my son Chayce because he has made me a better person. He has taught me to be kinder and more understanding. He has shown me a new world full of unconditional love and unending joy. He has not only made me a stronger person but has brought our whole family together as one. To know Chayce is to love Chayce. He is such a wonderful and happy little boy, and that is why I love my Chayce!

I do not have children yet and have never been around a Downs child but this thread has put me in tears. You all are so blessed and so are your children to have you.
