Hi all,
I am new to this board. I have not been diagnosed yet with acid reflux, but feel like I might have it. I have been getting reflux and some nausea some of the time. I also feel like I am clearing my throat alot when I feel the symptoms.

I read somewhere that drinking Apple Cider Vinegar can cure acid reflux. Anyone know about this? Does this work?

I would love to hear your stories!

Thanks,

Matty

hi, just wanted to add that I too have tried the Braggs vinegar, and the jury's still out in my opinion, but want to caution, that when you use it to be sure to dilute it in water-- ratio 4 parts water to 1 part vinegar. otherwise you will end up with worse symptoms and may do damage to your esophagus.
Maybe you will find relief, good luck.

What is Braggs vinegar, where do you get it, and how does that help reflux? I've read that on here several times and I'd like to try it if it really works. This is so frustrating. I was taking Prilosec OTC 2x/day, one in the morning and one in early evening. I read alot of posts saying that in people with LPR (which is what I think I have) it helps more if you take the 2 together. The past 3 days I have done that and it seems worse than before. I'm really frustrated. My throat feels like it's burning.

hi, its pretty cheap 16 oz under $3 plus shipping.i think the vinegar neatralizes the acid and aids in digestion and elimination.read up on it.braggs is 100%organic unlike the processed in the stores.

The Braggs vinegar you can find in any health food store. It's also available online. might want to google it to see what it looks like. It's just a better for you vinegar with organic everything and tastes pretty good. make sure to dilute it though or you will burn your throat. i am not sure if it's helping me but i put it in my water everyday and drink a bottle or two of water. it's got healthy things in it for all kinds of ailments from gastro to arthritis !

As far as the PPIs you may want to switch to a different brand. some people do better with different ones. also give it a little time. can take a month or longer to kick in. as long as no side effects i'd stick it out. didn't work for me, but others are doing ok on the meds. Also i hear the OTC prilosec isn't very successful with LPR, from the posts i've read.

I totally understand the burning throat and suffered for 2 weeks with it, gargled daily with salt water, and it's starting to get better, in fact today I even tempted fate and had a beer! so far so good:)
hope you feel better soon.

I fell for the $30.00 natural cure on the internet..they said to eat a red delicious apple or 1 teaspoon of honey, so for many nights i did the honey thing, and finally i forgot it one night and felt better,so i stopped the honey, also this "cure' did say vinegar..teh good kind, i did not try that.

My nights are worse than days, but sometimes i sleep ok, and I can't pinpoint what i eat yet that triggers it. I allow myself one coke a day, usually early, and I don't eat anything at least 3 hours before bed, yet some nights it's worse..it is sooo frustrating

suelynn,
sorry you fell for it, I almost did myself but had a feeling it was the apple vinegar thing, but am glad you shared so now my curiosity is satisfied:)

i've been putting vinegar in a bottle of water, and sipping it.
yeah, some days are better and I have no idea why since I pretty much eat the same stuff every day:yawn: so as not to have a major episode, and then have to go to work. it's a huge frustration:mad:
