It's been 2 and a half weeks since my surgery. About a 10 days afterwards 4 days went by that I was not sore in my upper right abdomen then it started getting sore and has been for the last 5 days. It's not bad during the day but by nighttime I am the most uncomfortable. At night I find myself not wanting to walk around much or get up and down because it annoys it. When I go to bed laying on my left side makes it more uncomfortable. I wouldn't say it is really painful, unless I'm just use to it, just uncomfortable and constant. I haven't been too active to have irritated it. Can anyone tell me if this is normal and how long until it will subside? I do have an appointment in two days with my docotor, but I hate to look like a hypochondriac if this isn't something I should worry about. I have read that there can be complications with gallstones being left behind so would like to catch that early if it is the case. I'm anxious to get back into a more active lifestyle and this is holding me back.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I was sore more weeks after my gallbladder removal than I was in the hospital. Also, you could have possibly pulled something if you moved the wrong way? That's a possibility but from my personal experience I would say you're fine.
Good Luck

I had my gallbladder out on Monday morning. It is Friday now and I had a rough night last night with a lot of upper back and shoulder pain on both sides. I think I overdid it a lot the day before (which wasn't much really) and paid for it last night. So I think there are normal aches and pains we all get after surgery. Just depends on how each person responds to the surgery and how well we recuperate. Do not hesitate to say anything to your doctor. You and/or your insurance paid money for the surgery and follow-ups, your surgeon should be willing to listen and help. I don't think you have to worry, but by telling your doctor he can relieve your concerns or check things out if he feels that it is necessary.
