Well, I got a pelvic ultrasound done last Wednesday. The test was actually done for my GI doctor. Not a GI problem. The doctor called with the test results today and said that it was an ob/gyn problem. Kind of knew that. The report did say that there were several follicles within each ovary. What I am gathering from my reading is that these are cysts. Would cysts cause the swelling? I had the results faxed over to my new ob/gyn. I haven't actually had my appointment with him yet (Aug. 29th), but I talked to the girl at the doctor's office and told her what it said and she told me to have it faxed over. The ob/gyn is on vacation until the week of the 20th, but she took my number and said that he would call me when he got back. Can anyone give me some insight as to what the follicles are? I would be very thankful for any feedback.
