Hi - about 5 months ago I had an appt. with my family doctor because I found some blood in my stool. He booked me for a EGD test which I will take at the end of August. Can anyone tell me what this test involves? Does it hurt? I am ready for it but I would like to know more about it. I was also told to get a 'fleet enema' which I should use 2 hrs before the test.

Are you getting an endoscopy test where they look down your throat into your stomach?

An EGD is an endoscopy exam of your upper digestive system -- like taape said.
