I dont know why, but cancer is one of my biggest fears.
Ive been working at an indor gokart track for almost 3 years now. The karts are driven inside a huge warehouse type building. We have air ventilation, it takes about 10 minutes for the building to cycle the air, but it seems like we still breather in a lot of crap. I have recently been thinking about all the exhaust gases I have been inhaling over the years. Like I said i have been there for almost 3 years and I spend around 35 hours a week inside the building. Am I just asking to have cancer in the years to come? I would think exhaust gas from an engine is cancerous? Should I be worried?

Exhaust fumes are all around us, and because you are working on a track you may be more succeptible to exposure.
Why not get one of those polluction masks cyclists wear? That may help?

I worked in tunnels, bridges and airports in my career, developed COPD in my mid forties, had to retire at age 53, now at age 59 lung cancer. Yes I smoked the whole time and was exposed to asbestos in the service and in my later work places. In addition to the exhaust you fear, check out the braking systems on these carts as many systems involve asbestos brake pads which contaminates the air and can cause cancer. Go carts are a fun activity for the family, but should be done in a well ventilated area. Hope this helped a little. Oh yes, carcinogens are in exhaust fumes.

Check out Hulda Clark's theories about pollutants and cancer. Interesting. She basically says that the door for the cancer virus is propped open by chemicals and pollutants. Then if you get the cancer you need to take care of both the pollutants and the virus.

Pollutants are a definite catalyst for diseases such as cancer. Everyone reacts differently, however. If two people who are exposed to the same amount of pollutants, one could be more genetically predisposed to develop cancer over the other. There is no way of knowing so cutting down the amount of pollutants in your life is always a good idea.
You should stop worrying. The subconscious mind is powerful and the negative thoughts could be making it worse.
Take care of yourself and get regular check-ups if you are worried. I have cancer, very early stages mind you, but I am functioning normally in every day like. If I let the idea of cancer scare me, I would wrap myself in a bubble and not come out...but what fun would like be then?? ;)

teal- have you heard of essiac tea? This helped my wife recover completely of an early cancer.
Also there is the cottage cheese/flax treatement- sounds funky but incredible results.
