I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas. I can't see my gastro yet so that is why i'm posting in here.

I have crohn's and am awaiting surgery for a small bowel resection due to the crohn's. But lately i have started suffering from very bad heart burn every night, it keeps me awake and can be painful. Also i have started to get a feeling of almost a lump type thing stuck in my oesphagus close to my stomach area. It feels as if there is a lump there.

I am wondering if gerd can be related to crohn's???

I have searched the net but can't find anything so hopefully someone on here can help me out.

Sharon, I have noticed that I often have a flareup of my acid reflux a short time before becoming sick to my stomach with crohn's again. I have yet to ask my doctor what her thoughts on the possibility of a connection are, But I have definitely notied one!

I havent been diagnosed with reflux but the sysmptoms make me think i may have it which has been brought on by my crohns.

It annoying because as im trying to deal with a flare up i also have this to contend with as well.

Le tme know what your doc says about the connection pleaseit will be interesting to find out if these are connected.
