Just wanted to let you guys know that Lexapro 10mg has worked wonders for me as far as anxiety and depression.
I took it for perimenopausal issues..... and trust me... if it could work for me, it can work for you! I was anxious to the extreme-- it was scary... but this stuff works.

Good luck!

Have you had any side effects from the lexapro and how long did it take to work for you? Also, did you take it in the am or pm?

I second these same questions. I finally move up to 10 mg tomorrow and sleeping has improved without anxiety upon wakening, but I also wonder how much is the klonopins doing and how much the lexapro is helping at this point.

I had some mild side effects the first two weeks- mostly loss of appetite. Initially I felt tired too- but I'm not sure if that was a side effect or just me being tired from all the insomnia problems I was having.

I take it in the morning. It's been almost a month and I don't feel any side effects at all-- not even sexual which was another concern for me. My doctor said about 30% of people will get that- glad I didn't.

The main thing is my anxiety has improved so much. I am so relieved this drug is working.... trust me-- getting close to menopause is NO fun, and my anxiety was off the charts.

I want to mention that years ago I tried other AD's after a death in the family. Prozac and I think Zoloft.... I hated them! I felt horrible on those meds. I was afraid Lexapro would be the same, but it has been a totally different experience.

ps- it started working in about a week.

 Good morning to all, Happy to hear Lexapro is doing it for you. I didn't do anything for me, mainly because I never suffered from depression. but I finally did when put on Lexapro. So my doc took me off of it ASAP> Like all medications they work for some and not for others, the majority of these SSRI's are designed for depression in mind and help the anxiety as well. But I am okay ad learning to control my life instead of it controlling me. It's mind over matter. Easier said than done, but having a good mental attitude works, at least for me. Keep posting, and good luck, I am happy that Lexapro is helping you, just think about it. you are doing great now, it will only get better! ;)

Lexapro has done wonders for me in terms of depression and anxiety. I am lucky it is available now, as I became unable to take Prozac anymore!
