I've been trying to watch it since day one; I was a fan, back when John Heffron won (I think that was season 2.) Anyway, Josh Blue is now in the final TWO! (For those who don't know/watch Josh is 27 and has been doing stand up since college, has athetoid CP and plays soccer for the US Para-Olympic team. His CD is called, "Good Josh, Bad Arm." It's been interesting to watch him over the last few weeks, I don't think I've ever met anyone with athetoid CP, mostly the people I know are spastic, or spastic/ataxic—In fact they all are.

Anyway, most of his jokes are about having cerebral palsy, but he's still funny. Kind of like there are a lot of comics who write jokes soley about their race. It really doesn't bother me, but I know some people have complained about it. I guess I don't care because I can relate.

Well, the final show is going to run on NBC tomorrow from 8pm EST to 9:30pm EST. I really hope he wins. *crosses all crossables*

Yep... we've been watching his performances and voting for him during the last few weeks. He is great! I wish I could get around as well as he does... he jumped off the four-foot stage last night, no problem!

You're kidding, right??!! I totally missed that. Yeah, wish I could do that!! I guess he was also riding his bike when the drunk tank picked him up, too. Definitely, not riding a bike over here either!!

You know, I never really understood why it is so frustrating to hear someone else say that people who talk about their race are pulling the "race card" until I heard about this comedian who talks about his disability. We talk about something because it is our experience, not because we are trying to pull sympathy by using a "race card" or a disability "card." Just what I've learned from this, I haven't actually seen the show, but I should.

I think he is hilarous. I dont see anything offenive with his jokes about CP. People who have CP who get offened with his jokes have 0% sence of humor. Exploting CP is funny for a comidy Rotine . <---- My opinon

Carlos Mencia who is a ablebody who has no disabilty makes funny jokes about CP that makes sence. He dont make real offenive ones ether.

So I think Josh could win.

wow, someone with a disability could win something because of natural talent. I love it when people with disabilities tap into the mainstreamed real world. We're held back so much, I can appreciate the break no matter what his routine is. I'm going to try and catch it tomorrow.

That is really amazing. I'm trying to get more courage to put myself out there more.:D

So Josh won... how awesome! Yes, he did indeed jump off the stage at the end of Tuesday night's show. He gets around very well.

Someone mentioned race card and disability card. I think this is different because Josh is using his disability with truth to make people laugh instead of using it as an excuse to gain sympathy or get angry (as some people do with race or disability). I do the same thing and make my friends laugh. I think self-deprecating humor can be very effective if not taken to an extreme.

I think people misunderstood me. I meant that if someone talks or jokes about their race too much, they are accused of pulling the race card. I admit that I have thought that people use a "race card", as if they are looking for sympathy because of it. But they're not. People talk about their lives based on their experience, not because they are looking for pity. It took people (not on this board) to accuse Josh of using the "disability card" to realize how stupid both terms are.

Dang it...I just logged in today and read this, so I've missed it. Maybe it will be on again, because this sounds hilarious! :D I know some people get offended, uncomfortable, etc. when "disabilities" are talked about, and especially joked about. But I find it funny, and feel that people can learn a lot from eachother by discussing issues, and using humor (when appropriate, of course) makes it all the better! I hope this is on again, since I really want to see it!

Midget... As I've been told in the past, we are not allowed to list websites here (so I can't give you the link), but if you go to that network's site and look for that show, there are video clips of all the comics, including Josh.

I think it was very cool to see a comic with CP on the show, and I'll admit I've only seen two episodes this season, but am I the only one who thought Ty was funnier?

I think it was very cool to see a comic with CP on the show, and I'll admit I've only seen two episodes this season, but am I the only one who thought Ty was funnier?

See... I'm having problems with this!! I watched the show from the beginning and everyone was pretty good (except Roz, God, I just did not like her,) and while everyone had funny moments, Josh and Gabriel were the only ones that made me consistantly laugh. Actually, I didn't even laugh at Ty until the final night.

Then, Josh had to go, and pretty much blow the final show. Seriously, he told like 3 jokes, two of which I've heard him specifically tell on the show, and the third ("What are you on and where can I get it?") Is the oldest joke in the book, ever. Period.

So, yeah, I thought Ty was the most funny guy on stage the final night (excluding John Heffron who I grew up listening to on the radio and he's Gooseman!), but should he have won the show? I don't know... then again, I'm conflicted. Because Josh didn't come up with new jokes for the final night and I'm worried about how funny he really is. I mean, is he only funny to us because we have CP? And then, what about America, did they only give it to him because he has CP? Did he get the pity vote? I dunno...

I thought Ty was funnier too. I was disappointed that Josh didn't come up with new material for the final performance. I was a little offended when he said something like if he was cured he'd loose his gig. That made me wonder... how can he "fit" his comedic style on a tv show? I use self-depreciating humor sometimes, but sometimes others get tired of it. I especially didn't like when he said the fan support was "crippling". I don't like someone calling me that and don't think it's right to call oneself that. I thought the part about him loosing his wallet was ridiculous, but I think that's more because I don't care for the comedy styles of Jim Carrey and Robin Williams because they go on and on.. On the flip side, I am glad his comedy was clean... Chris Porter's comedy was nothing but filthy. At least his wasn't as bad as Stella's though. I think Josh Blue was good to educate the public about the Paralympics. I really liked his joke of "if a Paralympic player gets injured, do they put him on the "disabled list"?" I think it was good to show Josh playing football and doing better than some of the AB people.
