maya, good for you too. wow, today is day 5. it has not been that bad. the habit is the worse part. we are just keeping busy. mostly after we eat. well, at least my house is clean, and the dishes are done. my hubby and i were on vaccation all week, but he is back to work today. i hope he is doing ok at work because i know a lot of people at his work smoke. looking forward to day 6..

Whew.........it's now been 2 weeks and 5 hours. Hubby and I feel great. Boy this no smoking thing is pretty easy so far. I thought after smoking for 19 years it would be tougher than this! So far the worst part were the days leading up to our quit date.

Hi Penster,
so...
what have you find to be the hardest?...and what has susprised you in the "easy " part......?
I would love to hear any shares that you have...
what to expect..not expect....
Don't you find the first 24- 48 hrs to be the hardest?
It is almost like ..."if I can get past 48 hrs...I'm on my way"....
Is that a fair assesment?
thanks!!

Maya -
For me - I guess I was surprised to find that it simply IS JUST A CHOICE and I"VE CHOSEN - NO to cigs. But the habit and pshychological urge is much stronger than I would have liked to admit. The first two days for me were much easier than days 3 and 4. I've found my subconscious trying very hard to talk me into smoking....like, hey - you did it without much effort - you can smoke today and put them right back down tomorrow OR - let's just get a drink and a smoke and celebrate your achievement this week - way to go!!! I know this sounds crazy, but it's definitely what is consuming my mind...

Hi Susan
I agree.....
for me...it is NOT the phsyical addiction....as mcuh as the HABIT!....
so...it is mind or matter?
is that the key?
Maybe someone who has been where we are at now...
can add to this ...
anyone?
Susan and I would love to hear feedback...
Thanks!!
