Hi

I am 27 and for quite a while, when I eat something a bit spicy or greasy, and sometimes not even spicy or greasy, I get a little heart burn but MASSIVE pain in my abdomen (under the chest area).. And it's not gas or anything where I need to use the bathroom. It's SUCH bad abdominal pain that I cant even stand up. It gets so bad, I feel like I will cry. And once it starts, it lasts ALL day until I go to sleep and wake up the next day. Or sometimes I wake up with it. The other day I just had my morning tea like I usually do, and suddenly it struck. I cant walk in it. I try and I just hunch over. It happens maybe once in a week or so, but when it does its REALLY bad. I dont have any reflux in my mouth or anything. No abnormal bowels etc. Also, meds like Tums, Gaviscon, Pepto Bismol dont help at all. And eating more makes it worse...

Does this sounds like an acidity issue or something else?

You might want to see doctor about a colonoscopy. Also, you can get a blockage or kink in your intestines that is painful like that, I had it years ago!!
Maybe IBS or Spastic colon.

Good luck to you.

Have you had gallbladder checked, i ahve not had that trouble, but have known people who have horrible pain, as gall stones are getting stuck..
In any case, you should be getting this checked

The first thing I thought of too was gallbladder disease. I've just been reading up on it because of my husband's symptom's in fact. I'd have it checked out pronto, so you can be more comfortable.

My sister has gastroesophageal reflux and I have never known her to suffer from pain as you describe it. The common feature of gastroesophageal reflux is heartburn, which may become more severe with vigorous exercise, bending or lying down and may be releived by antiacids or sitting upright. The pain of esophageal spasm resulting from reflux tends to be chronic and may mimic angina pectoris, radiating to the neck, jaws and arms.

The symptoms you are experiencing sounds like the classical gallbladder attack. A classic attack with severe midepigastric or right upper quadrant pain. Frequently after eating meals rich in fats. You may also experience recurring fat intolerance, belching that leaves a sour taste in your mouth, indigestion etc. A simple Ultrasonogrphy test can reveal calculi in the gallbladder with 96% accuracy.

However, pain as you describe it, can also be a symptom of many other diseases. It is best you get that checked soon.
