Do you know the effects of using Betadine as an external vaginal wash
throughout a pregnancy. Can it potentially harm a baby with
the iodine and possible affect it's thyroid. What tests are done once
baby is born to determine this? Is it perm.? I am currently 38 weeks pregnant.

Question? Is there a purpose for continued use of Betadine? Are you using this because your ob told you to--or is your ob aware that you are doing this?
There is not any warnings of preg females to use Betadine....External use should not be absorbed in any significant amount and therfore should not cause harm to the fetus.
