shorty03906 08-09-2006, 06:45 PM Does anybody know what happens to your body after you get off the depo shot? xtrish2002 08-09-2006, 06:57 PM Keep in mind that all women respond differently to any type of birth control. I've heard some women say they've had no problems and their next cycle is right on time after depo. But I've also heard others say it's taken them months or even years to have a regular cycle. So it all depends on you and how your body handles it. So there's really no way to answer your question, you'll just have to see what happens. If you have any concerns, post them, there's lots of women here that can offer advice and try to help. shorty03906 08-09-2006, 07:17 PM Thank you. I just took it, but in 3 months I will not go to take it again. I have been having medical problems, I dont know if its from the shot or not and thats why I want to get off of it. xtrish2002 08-09-2006, 09:01 PM Good for you! I actually believe the depo shot should be taken off the market because all it's good for is poisoning women's bodies. It can cause problems that last months, years, or for the rest of your life. The doctors don't tell you the potentially damaging or even life threatening things it can do to you when they prescribe it. I've very glad you've decided to quit taking it and I wish more women would research this drug and read the many horror stories before they put it into their bodies. whatshouldIdo 08-10-2006, 04:37 PM I wouldn't recommend the shot either. I took it for a while a few years ago and it took over a year of no treatment to get a period back. And about 2 years to start getting normal periods again. When I was on the shot, I gained about 20 pounds, and my legs were hurting me all the time. It felt as if my bones were aching. Don't get me wrong, it was NICE not having a period, but the end result of not having them and cramping because I wouldn't start wasn't worth the stress Bracelet 08-10-2006, 05:55 PM I would also reccommend that any woman who has spent any time on the depo shot get a bone density test, because it is a proven medical fact that the depo shot decreases bone mass and causes very early osteoporosis in women who use it. For this reason, along with a ton of other side effects, the depo should be pulled fromthe market and no sane doctor worth their M.D. should be allowed to give it to their patients any longer. shorty03906 08-11-2006, 12:47 PM I also heard that if you are trying to conceive it is harder to. jenn1v 08-11-2006, 04:23 PM Most women that have been on Depo won't be able to get pregant until 12 to 18 months after the last shot. I have also read that a lot of women have a much harder time after that. shorty03906 08-11-2006, 06:20 PM Where did you find that information, cause I would like to do some research on the depo shot? |
