Does inositol work as well as niacin for lowering high cholesterol? Does inositol has to be monitored for liver damage as does niacin? Does inositol also causes flushing? Thanks.

The answer to your question is no, no, and no.

As a long term taker of choline and inositol (as the phospholipids of lecithin) I echo the triple NO of AZ's answer.

Well, since lecithin is an emulsifier, I'm confident that it can be beneficial for heart health, regardless of the effect it may have on cholesterol levels. Of course, in some people, it may actually lower it. But overall, I'd say that it is a good supplement.
