robram4 02-14-2002, 11:49 AM is it possible to get a reaction from taking pain pills and cortizone injection for the same problem Super Sarah 02-16-2002, 09:58 AM Hi, You should not get a reaction, but having said that, everyone is different and I suppose it depends on the what pain meds you are taking. Anything is possible. However, if you have had a cortisone injection and it has worked properly, you should not have to take pain meds for a few days. The cortisone should reduce the inflammation and when you reduce inflammation, you should also reduce pain. Have you been getting any symptoms and of what type? Hope this helps? Sarah robram4 02-17-2002, 01:02 PM Super Sarah; thanks for your reply, i;m trying to find as much information on this as possible because i went to the hospital and went into ards and sepsis at the hospital and it all started at the injection sight staph and i survived, but it wasn;t easy so the cause is what is in question. thank you for your imput any others you may help me, with my understanding of this. signed ROB Lyndal Stuhr 02-18-2002, 12:14 AM I have been taking pain prxs & had several Steriod (cortizone) injections for the pain left by the feet surgery I had last June. Twice the Dr. prescribed the MethyPred.Pack ( an oral Prednizone) but all the measures brought only temporary relief or none at all. I am not familiar with the reactions you referred to. Did you mention Staph? That is very serious infection! You better get some answers fast from your Dr. or another Dr. opinion. I have been looking into FMS Fibromyalgia ( at the recommenation of the foot Dr.) I now suspect an underlying cause for the pain. I don't know the reason for the shots & pain meds. you are taking, I'm sure that is important to your reactions. God bless you as you keep looking for answers!! Perhaps there is an underlying problem for your reactions. |
