View Full Version : The lowdown on Yasmin! Must read...

Ok so I've been on Yasmin for about two years now and I have had no serious problems with it. I was prescribed Yasmin for my acne which was pretty bad due to stress from college, and other factors. I've always had really bad breakouts and I had tried every medication on the planet. I have to say that my acne has cleared up (but there are some small flareups around my period-which is totally normal), and my periods have become completely tolerable! Before taking the pill, my periods lasted about 5-7 days with a moderate flow and some bad cramps from time to time. Now, my periods last about a day and a half to 2 days and I dont really cramp at all. It has also helped out with some other pains that I had been having near my ovary region. My gyno said that I must drink ALOT of water every day because Yasmin can mess up the kidneys if we dont drink any. It does make me feel bloated sometimes but no big concern. In the beginning (1st-5th month), I felt alittle bit of chest tightness, alittle bit more tired, and thirsty. Alot of it was probably was in my head because I would read alot of healthboards and reviews saying that yasmin was BAD and that it would cause alot of problems. This was not true. So far so good for me Thank God! Every BC pill is different and all of them affect people differently. Some may like them and some may not. Every bc pill has side effects, and most go away within time. If they dont go away within 5-7 months then I would talk to my doctor/gyno. Just try it and see if its good for you. Hope this helps ya'll!
