hi to all here! first time i have been on this site.
i have a huge hiatal hernia in my upper stomach on the left side. this started back in 1973 with my first pregnancy. i have been on every pill available over the yrs and am currently on 2 protonix. over the years i did not want surgery, because of the major surgery i would need. now, i went to my gasteonologist in may. he did an endoscopy, and the hernia at this point is taking up almost the whole left side. he upped my protonix to 2 a day. this has not helped at all.
for a long time now, i am having loud air burps(embarrasing) feel bloated, and nausea/heart burn.
i have been away from home for 3 months, but, am making appt. with him for sept. he already told me it was too large for scope surgery. i am really afraid of the open surgery!
has anyone here ever had these problem with a hiatal hernia? what was done to make it better, etc.?

Hi bevann Sorry that you are having all these stomach problems, I am waiting to have a Endoscopy on thursday, I have been having real bad problems with my stomach under my right rib and my left rib at the front, Also sometimes in the middle above my belly button with nausea. How did you know something was not right was you in a lot of pain ,I also get what you have loud gurgling nosies like air bubbies!!
Did the Endoscopy hurt I am real scared (I am a big baby lol)
Do you have any other health problems, I have a underactive thyroid hashi's so I have a lot of thing going on with that.
I hope you get things sorted out.
