Apparently I still ovulate on it. I just got diagnosed with my second functional ovarian cyst and I am on ortho-lo. My doctor told me that a lot of times the very low dose pills you can still ovulate but you are still protected from pregnancy? How is this possible, that doesn't make me feel that great about it!

Ok, my pharmacist friend just kind of answered my question and I thought I would share it with everybody. She said yes, it is actually common to ovulate every once in awhile on low dose bcp's BUT the pill is still preventing pregnancy because it a)makes the cervical mucous hostile to sperm and b) makes the uterine lining hostile to a fertilized egg so it doesn't implant. How weird. I hope this is normal because ortho-lo was the only bcp I found that I liked and doesn't make me an emotional wreck!
