My Doctor has prescribed Feldene for Arthritis in my shoulder to see if it helps enough to avoid surgery. Has anyone taken feldene and what do you think of it? Thanks

Feldene like many other non-steroid anti-inflammatory meds can cause stomach bleeding and ulcers.

I was recently prescribed "Limbrel" for inflammation. Limbrel is a health food available only by prescription from a pharmacy. I have been on it for 4 weeks and already have improved a great deal, but it has not cured the problem yet. I have hopes it will continue to reduce the inflammation.

My shoulders have rotater cuff inflammation and I was prescribed exercises along with the Limbrel. I have inflammation in feet, knees, hips, groin, shoulders, hands. I already can get up and down with less pain, pain that felt like I was going to crack/break. My knee is not as swollen or painful.

Limbrel blocks an enzyme that causes inflammation and is not a chemical mixture but comes from natural plants if I understood right. So far I have not had any side effects.

Thank you for the reply, I will ask my Dr. about it. It seems like the feldene is working on my stomach pretty good. thanks again.

I was given Feldene many years ago for knee arthritis when it first started up. It helped the arthritis, but made me retain fluid to the point of being difficult to urinate, so I stopped. I have been taking Celebrex for about 5 years with no problems or side effects whatsoever, and it tames down the arth. pain pretty well.

My husband was prescribed feldene for leg, knee and foot arthritis. He was much better after about a week. Works great for him.
