 Hi. My 20yo son was diagnosed with E in February. He had 2 seizures before and has had one after starting his meds, both Nocturnal. So, basically he is doing well, doesn't have to go back to the Neuro for a year.
Today he had an eye exam and got contacts. He wont be wearing them to bed, and he did put his medical info on the Eye Exam Form. So what do you fine folks think about wearing Contacts with this diagnosis?
Thanks
Janis

What would contact lenses have anything to do with seizures?
I'm just curious.
I've been wearing contacts for 10 years, and I had a GM seizure 5 years ago (when I wasn't wearing contacts because it happened at night), but are people with GM's told not to wear contact lenses?

Probably me just trying to find something else to worry about. I thought that maybe during a GM seizure your eyes might roll, or something might make the contacts get out of place.
Thank You

I ended up getting glasses, but mentioned I had seizures, so they gave me the "safe lenses" as a precaution.
The worry I'd have about contacts is having them fall out if one would have a GM and hit the floor (pop out) and then have trouble locating them. I don't know if the "pop outs" happen as much now as they did years ago.

The softer ones would probably be fine, but be sure to get one of those little suction cup things in case someone else has to remove them (it's not hard or gross, just takes practice- wet ping pong ball works !!)
