This is a little long but I really could use some input. Tuesday night I went to bed around 12,my stomach wasn't feeling just right but I just thought it was something I ate. I went to sleep,I think? My husband said I was up for about 3 or 4 hours with vomiting and diarhea, I do not remember any of this,I only remember my husband waking me in the morning. I called my doctor and went into see him in the afternoon, he took my blood pressure and said it was high but I was scared. I have CAD with a stent and am unable to tolerate the statins they have given me. Has something like this ever happened to anyone else?? My husband was asking me questions and he said they were all wrong. the doctor asked if I was taking my blood pressure medicine and I said I don't take those,which isn't true. This is Thursday now and I can't eat,my stomach is very upset. I just have no idea what happened. Anybody have any ideas??

Hi Zimm,

Unlikely your problem is due to a cardiovascular disorder, but IF one has a low cardiac output (heart failure) there could be insufficient blood flow to the digestive system and can cause symptoms as you describe.

High blood pressure does not directly cause a digestive problem, but it could indicate unnecessary stress to the heart, and if sustained over a period of time cause a heart problem.

Thank you so much for your reply. I went to the ER yesterday. They did an EKG, blood work,urinalysis and a CTand chest Xrays. They seem to feel I have Gastritis but can't explain the memory problems, they said it was a possible Mini stroke. Will talk to my Primary on Monday and see what he thinks. Thanks again!
