I also got a Mineare's diagnosis recently. Since then I've had a lot of friends doing research and, as one put it, "Mineare's seems to be the dumping ground for any number of conditions they cannot positively diagnose." There's Mineare's and then there is 'Atypical Mineare's.' Which, as far as I can tell, simply means your condition does not fit the classic Mineare's profile. That's where I stand: dizziness 24 hours a day -- Mineare's is supposed to be episodic -- and I haven't once vomited or even felt sick to my stomach.....which is another classic symptom of Mineare's.

I went ahead and followed the advice of my physician, anyway, and went on a low sodium diet and ended up feeling very weak. After 5 days I decided to test his diagnosis and consumed approximately 20 times my recommended low daily limit of sodium by eating a lot of Kalamata olives. Nothing happened. Weeks later a different physician told me that it can take up to 36 hours for the effects of too much sodium to hit with Mineare's, but the olives had no effect on my condition whatsoever the entire week. So I was sure that I did not have Mineare's. However, many of my symptoms are classic Mineare's, and when my auto-immune deficiency test came back negative, it pretty much (in the minds of the 'experts,' anyway) sealed the diagnosis of Mineare's. I'm still not 100% convinced. Whatever the problem, it's the biggest drag in the world, and I hope you're able to cope with it better than I am.

I hope this was useful. Good luck!
