Hi,
I have always had lots of hair all over my body ever since I was young (I am a female). My hair on my head is black. I am 25 years old now. But now I noticed that in addition to the hair on my hands that I have already, new hair is starting to grow and it is "GOLD" in color! Any body have any idea about why?

Not just my hands... All over my body. I practically have hair on every inch of my body now.

I have the same thing going on as you... I have no idea what's causing it.
I went to a doctor last year to get my hormones checked and the doctor said that everything was fine... all my hormone levels were "normal."
I gave up at this point and have pretty much accepted the fact that I can't do anything about this horrible, rather disgusting problem.

You could try seeing a doctor... maybe that will help you since there's a possibility that your hormones are imbalanced.
Good luck!

Can I ask you one thing? Do you have any other health problems? Do you eat well?

I am always underweight and I always skip meals (usually caught up with school)

I was thinking that that could be a problem. But not sure.

That's what I thought my problem was too since I used to eat really, really poorly when I was a teenager a few years ago. I'm also a bit underweight (just a few pounds) but I doubt that that's what the problem is since I eat much healtheir now and taking vitamins... but that doesn't seem to make any difference.
I also don't have any other health problems at all.

I wish there was another explanation for this thing, but apparently there isn't. I wish I went to an endocrinologist instead of my regular doctor since an endo would probably have a better explanation... my doctor was completely clueless when I asked him what the possible causes were (he had to consult his books for a couple of weeks before he finally asked me to come back and get more blood and urine tests done- which were also pointless since everything came out "normal").

I've done a lot of reasearch on this and the possible causes are abnormal hormone leves, polycystic ovaries (PCOS), high testosterone levels, tumors, and even eating too many carbohydrates.
I had my hormones tested (normal), I also got tested for PCOS (negative), and I'm pretty sure that I don't have any tumors.
I eventually found out that birth control pills can help control body hair... but I've been taking those for almost two years now and that hasn't helped me at all.

I hope this helps and you figure it all out soon.
Keep posting if you do find anything out.

I'm sorry about your new hair growth, but I think it is normal. I'm 25 with dark brown hair and every week I feel like I see new hair growth. Last week I discovered some on the sides of my face, below the check bone. It is like a hint of a beard, but not on the chin, but have you seen the old men that grow it up their face to join with their mustache. it is very light, but still there!!!! So gross.

I've been having laser hair removal treatments and they are working well. I have my next one on Thursday. If you are curious check out my diary of the process at {REMOVED}
