Well hun the chances are you already had the virus. That is why this virus is so common. Many people (and by many I mean 80-90% of the population) have hsv1. Like I said it is common. HSV2 on the other hand is a different story. you should read alot of the posts you many learn more.

the doctor told me that if there are no antibodies for hsv2. That I had to have just come incontact with it. my question is if someone has hsv1 oral can it turn to hsv2 gentile. Or does someone have to have hsv2 to get hsv2

I did find out I was tested for both 1 and 2. negative for antibodies on both.Doctor told me that if you have 1 that you can get 2 if they are having abreak out.. For those who didnt know this hsv1 can cause hsv2. It is not one causes one. hsv1 causing hsv1 hsv2 causing hsv2.

Was it a blood test? If it was a swabbed test then I don't believe the accuracy. Blood test will tell you for sure. HSV1 can be spread to your genital through oral sex. HSV2 can be spread to your lips through oral as well. HSV1=cold sores, HSV2=genital herpes. Please ask your doctor for a blood test.
