Happymedium,
Welcome to the site. We all have various reactions so you will really need to see a GI doc. I have IBS, Gerd or reflu, and have just recently had my gallbladder removed. I had pain in my ribcage periodically all the way across under my ribs. my GP said it was chestwall inflammation. About 6 months later I had pain just under the right ribcage which would go around to my back and sometimes up into my shoulder. I did all the test for gallbladder but the test hidascan, ct, and ultrasound where all normal. After 9 to 10 months I got another GI doc he said he thought it was gallbladder. Even though tests were all normal the gallbladder was inflammed as it turned out. I kept following my instincts... that is all we can do. Many docs will make you feel silly...but I say you knpwoooo follow you instincts.
Luck to you.

hi crampster, thanks i just hope the docs will be able to get to the bottom of this, things should become clearer then,my appointment is on the 21st this month. With acid reflux there seems to be so many syptoms & i did not realise how bad it can make you feel.I have also the added problem of not being able to take the meds as they made me itch all the time,so i have been using herbal instead.

Ooooh that stinks not being able to take meds...
I can only suggest for reflux stay away from acidic foods i.e., tomato and citrus type foods... I know that one sip of OJ will put me in trouble ... especially without meds.
I also found that when I was having a reflux attack I could raise my arms in the air and it relieved some of the pressure for a minute or so anyway. I have had some severe attacks.. going to the emergency room thinking I was havin a hard attack... so I had to learn to tell best as I could when they were reflux attacks.
Good luck at the docs and if you can't take meds try and watch your diet. Let me know how things go.

When my gall bladder is acting up I sometimes get mirror pains in my left side, but 99% of the time it's hurting in my right side too. I do know that several times it's hurt in such a way I thought it was a heart attack.

It sounds to me like it's likely not your gall bladder, but I'm not a doctor. This is also your body and you know it better than anyone. Bring it up to the doctor, but I think you don't have anything to fear in that department.
