View Full Version : Liquid Morphine

Hello Everyone

Just want to know if anyone on this board had heard of or has had liquid morphine. I have morphine and demoral both in pill and injection form but the doctor has switched me to the liquid because of strep throat and whooping cough. Im on these meds because of TMJ and Migranes

Yes, morphine is available in liquid form. It also comes in capsules, tablets, suppositories, and injections.

I guess what I wanted to know is if liquid morphine stronger than the pill form or the injction form?

Well, I'm assuming that it just depends on the strength and dosage, and those are determined by your doctor...an average example starting on morphine would be: tablets/capsules/oral solution/suppositories 10 to 30 mg every 4-6 hours. Injection would be 5-20 mg intramuscularly or subcutaneously every 6 hours. After that, the doctor can adjust the dosage to your individual needs (more, less, etc.)

Thank you for your post, I guess it isn't working that well since the pills and IM shots haven't really helped. The only meds I find that give me relief are demoral 100mg - 150mg pills and the IM shot. and the patch. Been on alot but the doctors have cut my meds right down so I have quite a few hours even day's with sever migrane and TMJ pain
