Hi, all,
This is only my second post, but I have read several posts where people are having the same problem..no dx. I have or had the following symptoms for the past 6 months:
severe headaches, ringing in the ears, electrical buzzing starting in the head and going down my neck and back, vertigo, severe walking impairment (I use a cane), memory problems, bowel incontinence, tremors, and extreme fatigue. I had two MRI's the first showed lesions (but doc said not delyminating), spinal tap-normal; second MRI-no change, evoked potentials-normal, a test that I don't know the name of but included warm water in my ears and quick position change and watching a red laser zooming from side to side- the doc said one test result indicated MS but the others didn't. Yesterday I went to an opthamologist and was diagnosed with optic neuritis. 'The doc immediately called the neuro who will not dx MS. He did say I could come into the office and he will prescribe massive steroids but will still not dx MS. This neuro is two offices down from the opthomologist but wouldn't do an rx that I have to go back. We are talking 60 miles each way. I am so ready to give up...like a lot of the other members of this board. What a bunch of crap! The neuro acts like that I want MS. I told him I just wanted to be treated because ealry intervention can prevent (or at least delay) permanent damage.

Annie,
Don't give up yet, your right many have been where your at.You need a second opinion.Get copies of all your test including the mri reports, find a neuro closer if neccesary.Even though veps and LP were normal, this does not exclude MS.There is not one definate test that says MS,its a combination of test and symptoms. You have a lot of support and a wealth of info here.Keep us posted.
