Hi everyone,
I had implants done on 5&6 lower right four years ago and from time to time there was little bit of puss coming out under it. My dentist said it is normal soft tissue problem, not to worry and clean it and everything will be fine.
Two days ago I felt like I had something stuck between my teeth and I suck trying to get it out. Can you imagine my horror when those crowns came off -they are joined. I am going to see dentist tomorrow, different one, because I am to far to go to one who did it.
When I look at the crowns in one you can see white "cement" ,but not in the other and in those "things" sticking out of my gum one is full on "cement" and in the other was puss. Sorry I know it is disgusting.
When I push on my gum I can see little bit of yelow pus coming out. But my gums looks healthy,no change of colour,no inflamation.
Had this happened to anyone else?
Any idea why? Is it just bad workmanship?
Thanks!
I am so worried what news I get tomorrow.

As long as you do not have a lot of pain and there is no mobility of the implants it sounds like the crowns did not allow for proper cleaning and you may have gotten some food or plaque underneath allowing an infection to develop. You can use dent temp or some other temporary filling material sold at drgustores to keep the crowns on until you see the dentist. He will probably debride the area and give you a antibiotic. I'm sure he will check the fit of the crowns and esnure they are ok before recementing them in. Also in the meantime, rinse the area with warm water and salt - it will help draw the infection out. Good Luck.

I agree maybe you just have gum irriation from trapped food. If the crowns were compromised and food getting under them then maybe your gums are irritated.
