View Full Version : Feet Cramping, Anemia and Hair

Hi All,
I have Kidney Disease. My left kidney doesn't function. I am a stone former and I have kidney stones in both kidneys right now.

The bottoms of my feet have been cramping and even my toes once in a while. Just like Charlie horses. It doesn't last long but it's aggravating. Does anyone else have this problem.

Also, I have always been the kind of person that is warm all of the time. My husband use to say I was his heating blanket. Well, all of that has changed. When he is at work I keep it around 80 to 82 and when he comes home I put the thermostat at 78. There are times I have to put a sweater on in the house. Definitely when we go out and go into air conditioned buildings. Otherwise I would freeze to death. Does this have to do with the kidney disease?

My hair is so thin now. I don't know if it is because of all of the medications that I am taking or not. Especially on top. Has anyone else noticed this?

Debbie

The cramping and feeling cold are symptoms of anemia. You should contact your nephrologist and have labwork done to evaluate. You probably have some electrolyte imbalances as well. It's important to get adequate treatment right away.

Mari,
Thank you for your reply. I will call my nephrologist's office tomorrow.

Debbie
