I like many others here gained weight on zoloft 30 pounds in like 2 months or less. I became even more depressed I spoke with the DR. and now I am taking Wellbutrin SR 150mg.
I also work out and guess what ...NO WEIGHT LOSS!!
Has anyone here got off Zoloft and lost eh weight they put on while taking that medication. Is anyone else taking Wellbutrin now. What are your experiences with this. I am only on my first month of the Wellbutrin.THanks for all that can help.

I wish I could be more encouraging, but I took Zoloft for about two years until five years ago. I gained 45 pounds -- and even after I quit the drug, no diet seemed to help. I tried Weight Watchers and Atkins, and after the initial 5-6 pound losses, the weight loss stopped. I got frustrated because I felt deprived and saw no results.
I'd love to hear success stories.
Hi thanks for the reply I am begining to think that we are in no luck at all for getting the weight off. I am almost sure the zoloft ruined my metabolism I just can't seen to get it working again. I am like u a success story would be great. Good Luck! Are you currently on any medication now?

Not on any meds except thyroid med, which doesn't seem to be helping the metabolism, contrary to popular belief.

what thyroid medicine are you on?
I am about to start taking Synthyroid for hypothyroidism. I have also gained about 30 lbs and am hoping that I will start losing when I start the meds...any ideas?

I take Unithroid. So far (after several months) it doesn't seem to have affected my weight, unfortunately. I got a lot of help at the web site, thyroid.about.com. If you don't know much about hypothyroidism, it's a good source for info. You'll learn that there's disagreement over the best sources for thyroid drugs (synthetic vs. organic) and also over whether it's sufficient to take a T4 drug like Synthroid or Unithroid - or if it's better to add a T3 drug to the mix. It's definitely worth reading up on. Good luck!
