Some people can take SSRIs (class Lexapro is in)...I can't. Makes me either have tremors or just jittery in general (have tried several). Whatever you do, don't take Wellbutrin/Zyban- known to increase seizures, or cause them in people who don't have epilepsy. See what your doc says. I know benzo withdrawl is no fun (saw it in several people where I worked). But, on the other hand, if one works for you, and you take it as prescribed, there's nothing wrong with them (I'm currently on Klonopin 4mg at bedtime, and Ativan 2mg as needed for auras to cut down the severity of the CPS- and it seems to help). Also on Neurontin (more for the autonomic disorder) and recently Keppra (low dose- just started, but even the low doses of most meds work fine for me), and Tegretol (among a few others). You can start on a low dose, and adjust it as needed (it's common to have to increase the dose, but this doesn't effect how I feel on it). It helps me sleep, and helps with the seizures. I've found it to be very worthwhile, especially with getting sleep. IJUSTWANNANO 08-14-2006, 07:07 PM xxxxxxxxxx |
