Hubby just received a letter offering a study of Botox. I always thought that may help but the expense kept us from doing that. Has anyone tried this and what side effects???? Just checking around.

I'm sure the side effects are listed on the internet so I won't put those here (unless you want me to). I didn't experience any when I did it, except one time I bled a little.

But I've tried Botox in the past. Botox is meant to be used by people who have *rebound headaches.* The Botox will numb half of your head so that you won't have a headache for the rest of the day. It is supposed to break the cycle.

Personally, it helped me short term, but not long term. I continued to get headaches every day, so my doctor knew it wasn't rebound headaches. After that was discovered, I stopped.

I have had the series of botox injections. Twenty three injections over the head and neck, three times spaced three months apart. They weren't helpful in easing the pain, nor did they seem to ' break the cycle', but I had no side effects.

I've spoken to others for whom they seemed to be a cure though, so there is positive evidence of success. How' that for a mixed message?
