My husband was diagnosed with herpes about 2 months ago. He had no blisters or anything, just what looked like a tiny nick in his foreskin that didnt seem to want to heal. Anyway, he has had a 5 day course of Acyclovir, which did seem to reduce the redness around the "nick" but nothing else. Because the little cut has been there for so long it has started to buid up scar tissue- his foreskin now wont stretch enough to retract fully- it only gets about 1/2 way back. He has been given some hydrocortisone cream by our doctor but it doesnt seem to be having any effect. Can anyone suggest what he should be trying? as he is thoroughly miserable at the moment. The doctor has said that circumcision may be an option, but that it would be way down the line.
