I have been having pressure on the right side of my head, for a while; but now it seems to move to the top of my head and a little on the left. I was wondering what this could be and how I should go about getting some help.

Have you read the TMJ board? I have TMJ and it can cause pain on the sides of the head, the top and back of head. Tooth grinding and clenching can cause all kinds of pains. Check out the TMJ board. Good luck.

Last night, my head got worse. It felt like a headache on my forehead and the whole right side of my head. I drank a beer thinking maybe that would help it, but it just made it worse. Could somebody please tell me what I should do.

Well last night was the worse for me. I had this sharp pain the whole time and my whole right side of my head. My boyfriend said I felt hot, well 10 mins later I went to take a shower and while the water was getting hot I felt hotter and started to sweat. Next thing I know I was throwing up. Should I considered about this and call the doctor.

First of all and most importantly stay away from the beer ! alcohol intensifys head pain. Also Migraines will make you sick. You need to go see a dr. about this sound like from your posts that headaches isnt something you have been suffering with in the past so this shouldnt go untreated without seing a physician. Head pain is usually caused from the blood vessels closing up to a point and restricting blood flow as normal. Most of the meds given by the dr. will work to expand the blood vessels in your head. Like Imetrex and topomax. These are great drugs for relieveing the pain just not great for preventing them from happening. Also before going to the dr. think about your lifestyle changes that have been with you since the pain began this would help your dr.

Thank you for your help. I have an appt tomorrow with my doctor. this pain started in june, that would be 4 months after i moved in with my boyfriend. I was in the heat for about 6 hours in june with the temp. being over 100. so I dont know if that is where it started, but I have never had this head pressure before June of this year.

So I went to the doctors yesterday. I am having blood work done, but will not get the results back for a couple of days. My doctor prescribed me Nortriptyline, b/c he thinks I might be having chronic migraines. He also thinks it might be TMJ. So he wants me to get a mouth guard wear that to see if that helps. He also wants me to take exedrin migraine as needed too.

Please let me know what you think about this.

So i cant take my medication anymore, b/c last week i got sick on it. so today i emailed my doctor to ask if he can reffer me to a neuroligst.
