View Full Version : Night time seizures

With the exception of absence seizures when I was young, 99% of my seizures have been at night. I've been unmarried most of my adult life, so I've never had any clue what goes on while I sleep. About 6 months ago, I've noticed that I sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night, I have a head shake (please forgive me, but it's like Katherine Hepburn's). To the best of my knowledge, I've never had a gran mal. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm very groggy and I go right back to sleep. I'm wondering if it's neurological. I've also had a lot of headaches lately, and I'm wondering if that's somehow connected. I'd appreciate any thoughts! Thanks!

I'll wake up with my tongue and inside of my cheek on the right chewed up and sometimes incontinent; also achey and usually with a headache. About 1/2-1/3 of my seizures are at night, I think- live with the dog, so don't get much info from her !!
