i am on ortho tricyclen lo. i love it. i have been on it for about a year since the birth of my second child, and about 1 year before i got pregnant. ( i was OFF the pill when i got pregnant) i haven't gained any weight. i'm not sure about acne, because i have never had it bad. but i do still have the occasional pimple. and i have never had any breakthrough bleeding.
i also took ortho tricyclen (regular) for about 2 years before the birth of my first child. and i loved it as well. effects were the same. i have heard people say otherwise, but i've never had any problem.
good luck, hope this helps.

OTC was the first bcp I took when I was 18 years old. It worked very well for me and i had little side effects. No breakthrough bleeding! I didn't really see where it did much for acne though...maybe a really slight change. I'm on Trinessa now which is the generic....I thought they didn't make regular OTC anymore?

Thanks everyone. I've never heard anything about not making OTC, the website is still up and running, but who knows, I'll ask my doctor.

[ REMOVED ] In my opinion, OTC will be made for a very long time. You might be confused because a few years ago they came out with OTC Lo with is a lower dose of the medication. They are both currently being made.

I was on OTC for 4-5 years and loved it in the begining. However, while I did not find that I gained weight on that pill, it was definitely hard to lose weight when I wanted to. Also in the last year I was on it, it started to make me very emotional. Now I am on Yasmin (9 months now) and I love it! No problems at all (knock on wood! LOL!) But remember every pill reacts differently to every person.
