View Full Version : Fungus causing enlarged lymph nodes

I have been cleaning out a house that I bought. In May I was in the basement cleaning who knows what. Things that have been around for at 50 years. Alot dirt and the basement was damp.
Now I have a very enlarged lymph node in my neck with alot of smaller ones. I am having a biospy done on 08/21 to see what it could be. Mainly checking for lymphoma. I feel fine except for the worry of the biopsy .
I was wondering has anybody has heard of this personally
Thank you

Hi,
I've been researching this forum, and I, too, believe mold has something to do with lymphoma---of course, other factors, too.
Right before my collarbone lymph node swelled, I cleaned our entire damp basement (took about 5 days)--cleaned 6 kitty litter boxes inside & out---then proceeded to get stressed out about going out of town. I believe, had it not been for the mold, perhaps maybe my lymphoma wouldn't have popped up, like it did. Maybe it's a good thing??? Or else...it could've moved through my system to a bigger organ.
Since my diagnosis, my husband got a "state-of-the-art" dehumidifier, and it's been going (literally) non-stop downstairs. I wish he would've done that earlier---I've got to stop these "what if's."
Someone said on your post that they thought lymphoma is caused by one's diet/environmental/& stress....I think, add to that: mold.

Anyway---I'm in agreement with you about mold. Those spores can play havoc with one's system. I've turned over the kitty litter cleaning to my husband. I can't part with my beloved kitties, though. I keep hand-cleaner sanitizer everywhere, because I know cats are associated with certain illnesses.
Hope you're doing better.

I am not aware of ANY illnesses associated with cats unless you're allergic!
Kitty LITTER, yes -- but even then, mostly a concern for pregnant women or people with HIV or immune system problems.

You're right...
I'm sorry....
I meant "kitty litter" and the problems associated with it.
I know there's a "cat scratch fever," which I don't know very much about, and before my diagnosis, I thought maybe I had that, instead of Hodgkin's.

Don't mean to scare you but it could be chemicals or pesticides. They are nasty and don't really air out. You might consider asking the previous owners if they used pesticides and if any spilled in there.
But your body is telling you something is toxic when your glands swell like that. Don't let kids in there. it is very dangerous for their growing organs and health.

When I have enlarged lymph nodes I pay very close attention to what I've been in contact with. Mold and chemicals both can cause mine to swell. Get this, if I sleep in a bed with strong detergents used or too new a mattress, the nodes under my eyes swell! Had a friend who thought I was nuts until she saw that. She's one of my biggest advocates now.

I am a strong believer in understanding my body's early warning signs or as the Dr's put it, early onset symptoms. For me, swelling is serious stuff.

Someone very wise once told me that mold and chemicals are the same thing. As far as my body is concerned, this has proven to be profoundly true.

Whether it be chemicals or mold, my body can react differently to different ones. This is a major reason why the world at large has had such a difficult time understanding, diagnosing and treating mold/chemical caused illnesses effectively. Often they are diagnosed at the end of the string, say the lymphs, when the actual cause is mold.

If your inner knowing says mold, have faith that you know what is wrong.

And get super educated. That and trusting your inner knowing are your greatest allies in healing and staying well.

One last thing, I was bitten once, on top of my head. Nasty bite. I think it was a spider. Caused all the nodes in my neck and head to swell. One on the back of my neck was the size of an apricot! Huge! I went to the local clinic, etc. Did not ignore, okay? I was a sick puppy for a while there. They said, your body is doing what it is supposed to do. We don't know for sure what problem is since you did not see or find anything on you, are sure though that it is definbitely not lyme disease. After asking about 5 times, he said yes, you can take antibiotics but I don't recommend it. Unusual for most Dr's not to immediately prescribe meds... Anyway, point is, they went down and I healed after about 2 days. Not a pleasant expereince to be sure. So bite/scratch/injury caused symptoms are usually kinda obvious aren't they? Mold/chemicals are insidious, often unseen... Not something a lot of Dr's cope well with. In all fairness to the Dr's, let me say also that I think their intuitive healing abilities are literally programmed out of them in their training, here in the progressive west that is. A great sorrow for us all....

In Peace,
S-
