Ok i want to get my numbers down without statins. The doctor said i could do diet and exercise and try some vitamins. What do i take?? She suggested Niacin but i dont think i want that if its going to cause flushing. I suggested fish oil and flaxseed. How many do i take do i take them both i dont know anything about vitamins. I heard of a few others that you take to level those out but not sure what they were some cq something or another i cant remember, any help will be appreciated. I dont remember my exact numbers but they were i know HDL 33 and i think the total was 186 with my LDL being 165 or around there and the TRIG were normal.

confused,
Ask you doctor for those numbers again.
TC is equal to the sum of HDL, LDL and one fifth of triglycerides.
Since your HDL and LDL already total 198, that TC of 186 is clearly a mistake.

I will call her this morning and find out the right results but i know they definatly need improvment i just dont know what vitamins would be the best to take. I know alot on here take the fish oil, some flaxseed, red yeast and some niacin. I have already managed to get them down from what they were back in march by diet and losing some weight but they arent down enough so before going on the zocor that my other cardio gave me i want to try vitamins with the diet and exercise. She suggested to do the niacin to get my HDL up cause i know for a fact it was 33, she didnt go into if its ok to take all these together or exactly which ones to take.
