At age 19 I went to numerous obgyn's because of a discharge I was having. Nearly every one said it was normal (PAP normal) and that I possibly just discharged more than others. That was ridiculous to me and I was not accepting the fact I had to change panties 2-3 times a day if I did not wear a pad from the discharge. After seeing yet another obgyn, he said I had precancerous cells and did cryosurgery. Since then every pap has been fine and discharge has totally changed. After getting a little more educated I think back often to that visit and wonder if I really needed it done, why precancerous cells and no other doctor noticed and am I in danger of these precancerous cells coming back... I ask to test for hpv every year and I do not get any negative results. Maybe I just worry too much. The thought of cervical cancer is on my mind. Any thoughts on how to properly ask my obgyn to screen/test for this since I had such bad luck years ago? Thanks ladies.
